Northwest Nursing Leadership Council

The purpose of the cross departmental/domain Northwest Nursing Leadership Council (NWNLC) is to ensure alignment in the provision of quality healthcare to the members and communities we serve by insuring the Kaiser Permanente Mission and Beliefs, and Kaiser Permanente’s Nursing Vision, Nursing Professional Practice Model are thoroughly integrated into the work we do. As we improve our collaboration across the continuum of patient care, we identify opportunities to connect as nurses to provide even better support for our patients as they receive care across our diverse settings.

Our objectives are:

  • To serve as the primary regional nursing forum to identify, discuss, and prioritize nursing’s regional strategic objectives
  • To align NW nursing with KP national nursing strategy and KP’s enterprise strategy
  • To oversee and hold accountable work groups for specific strategic work streams, and
  • To resolve and escalate barriers to reaching agreed upon goals.

Our membership includes the most senior nurse leaders across care settings, both management and labor. Our 2018 priorities include improving communication (like this website) and collaborating on key workforce planning efforts to improve and sustain our nursing workforce.
