
Three Kaiser Permanente Nurse Leaders honored during the awards ceremony. Congratulations to the following Nurse Leaders on their respective awards: Linda Leavell (retired), Excellence in Leadership; Juli McGinnis, Excellence in Clinical Practice; and June Rondinelli, Excellence in Research.
Dan Weberg is a nurse leader and expert in human-centered patient design and simulation and healthcare innovation with extensive clinical experience in the emergency department, acute in-patient hospital settings, and academia over past 12 years. Dan is an author, scholar, positive deviant and is the Senior Director of Innovation and Leadership for Kaiser Permanente’s National Nursing Leadership and Strategy Team. Dan is also a core team member and a founding Clinical Assistant Professor focused on technology, leadership and inter-professional curriculum for the new Kaiser Permanente School of Medicine
Kaiser Permanente Northwest claimed six of 17 awards — triple the number received by any other regional health care organization — at the June 1 March of Dimes Nurse of the Year recognition event in Portland, Oregon.
The top honor, Distinguished Nurse of the Year, went to Lisa Krening, from Sunnyside Medical Center. This was the second time in the past three years that a Kaiser Permanente nurse took home this prestigious award.
