The SCal Kaiser Permanente Leadership Development/Succession Planning Program is an evidence-based, custom-designed program which focuses on growing & developing talent among high-performing, experienced nurse managers and directors who have been targeted as future organizational leaders. The program is a leadership development series that brings together the experience and expertise of University & Kaiser Permanente faculty. The program’s structure provides executive mentoring, "on-the-ground" learning, and "real world" application opportunities.

The leadership program curriculum addresses knowledge, competencies and skills needed for leadership in the 21st century healthcare landscape. During the ten-month program, participants collaborate with their mentors and work through a program capstone project that is aligned with organizational strategic priorities and to the program's key focus areas and leadership competencies. The capstone projects challenge participants to leverage the knowledge and skills they acquire throughout the program to influence and impact organizational outcomes.
